Mr. Paulson was our gust speaker today at ASNE Reynolds High School Journalism Institute.
His presentation was engaging, asking us what were the five freedoms in the First Amendment.
They are Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly and the right to Petition. The First Amendment was written because at America's inception, citizens demanded a guarantee of their basic freedoms.
We went over many of the facts and distortions viewed as truth. The Bill of Rights _ the first 10 amendments to the Constitution went into effect on Dec. 15, 1791.
