I am here in Phoenix managing multiple tasks.  I finally finished submitting the yearbook from my hotel room yesterday morning, and gave the approval to print in a text message, while scurrying to class.  The message simply said, "Yes."   The latest edition of the Echo was sent to publish, and my daunting role of producing that book along with nine editions of the Dubuque Senior Rampage Newspaper was put to bed for another school year.

I am learning to "set them up and knock them down" (sage advice from a friend back home).  Thank goodness there is a two-hour time difference and I am still on school time (5:30 am in Iowa is 7:30 am here).

Lest I sound like an ingrate, I want to express my appreciation for this opportunity.  WOW!  I am one lucky journalism teacher.  Never did I think I'd land in Phoenix, at ASU, at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.   I am sure a new Paula will return home richer and more abundant from the experience.  I am OK with the heat.
